Santa Fe Earrings (large gauge)
This listing is for some pretty eye catching handmade large gauge hoops! They are hand crafted with scavenged Santa Fe Railroad china plate shards that I found along the railroad tracks. Often times, railroad china was thrown off of dining cars, whenever a plate or cup broke. What better way to preserve it's history, than to wear them as a piece of jewelry. These pieces in particular were used on passenger trains from 1936-1970.
These beauties are specifically crafted for folks with stretched ears. The base of the hoop is forged out of 10g sterling silver wire. With that said, your ears must be stretched for these to fit. The back plate consists of hand stamped designs that resemble flowers in bloom. These hoops have a lot of fine details, for example the beaded edge that you can find above the china plate setting. After, they were sawed, filed, and sanded for comfort. So much intention went into these hoops you see here. Definitely a true labor of love!
Please check all dimensions to ensure each piece of jewelry will fit you before purchasing. I typically do not accept returns, and hope that all of my customers are satisfied with the jewelry they purchase from me. For us to achieve that, please go through and read all jewelry descriptions, look at the photographs, and make sure that everything is the correct size.
