Tidal Wave Ring (size 7 3/4)

This listing is for a one of a kind sterling silver ring featuring a piece of Union Pacific Railroad China. Often times, railroad china was thrown off of dining cars, whenever a plate or cup broke. What better way to preserve its history, than to wear it in a silver piece of jewelry.

I hand cut the china plate fragment into a cabochon, making use of the border of the plate. The plate was set in a sterling silver bezel, attached to a sterling silver back plate that holds three sterling silver stamped embellishments. The ring band was also hand stamped with a split shank band.

The ring was tumbled, for polishing and burnishing. I added a patina for extra contrast, then gave it a final polish.
